Creating art that transforms space

My work explores the relationship between colour, geometry and depth.

Inspired by the beauty and complexity of the natural world, I translate colours, textures and structures into layered contemporary artworks. Through carefully balanced compositions, subtle colour transitions and the interplay of light and shadow, each piece reveals new details over time.

I am fascinated by the way art can influence the atmosphere of a space, not only through what we see, but through what we feel.

My aim is to create work that invites people to pause, look closer and discover something new.

From design to art

Before focusing fully on my artistic practice, I spent many years working as a graphic designer and art director.

That background continues to shape my work today.

A designer learns to think about balance, composition, scale and visual impact. As an artist, I apply those same principles in a different way, creating artworks that communicate through colour, material and form rather than words.

The transition from design to art felt like a natural evolution: from helping organisations tell their stories to creating work that allows viewers to create their own.

A fascination with layers

One of the defining characteristics of my work is the use of layering.

Whether through colour, material or structure, I am drawn to the idea that beauty often reveals itself gradually.

From a distance, a piece may appear calm and geometric. Up close, new textures, transitions and details emerge.

This balance between simplicity and complexity is at the heart of my work.

Art for contemporary spaces

My artworks are created for both private collectors and professional environments.

From residential interiors to offices, reception areas and hospitality settings, each piece is designed to become an integral part of its surroundings.

Many works are produced using layered PET felt, combining visual depth with acoustic benefits and creating an experience that is both aesthetic and functional.

Artist statement

I believe that art should continue to reveal itself over time.

The longer you look, the more you discover.

Through colour, layering and geometry, I create artworks that bring atmosphere, depth and visual energy to the spaces we live and work in.

Background

I studied Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam, where I developed my fascination for colour, composition and material exploration.

Over the years, my work has been further enriched by a career in graphic design, combining artistic freedom with a deep appreciation for structure, detail and visual harmony.
